In bed at 9:00...
Could life get any better? I submit that it cannot! (Brian Regan reference...check him out!)
Today was a monumental day for me at work. After 6 years with my office (most of which I've been the office manager), today they FINALLY gave me an office!! With four walls! I've been living the cubicle life since 2004 and let me tell you - I've done my time! No privacy, people hanging out at my desk to be entertained, nosy people checking out my screen, etc. etc.
I renewed my request for an office on my 6 year anniversary. I have asked for the past few years but the answer was always the same. And very true to how life works, just as I gave up hope, I get the news that it was happening!! I made the request for my counterpart also, so she got the surprise too!!
I've spent all day moving computers from one office to another (6 moves total). I crawled on the floor, moved printers, CPU's, monitors, dealt with all those tangled cords, and waded through all the dust. It is going to be soooooo worth it. Needless to say, I'm very tired and sore. Maybe one day I'll tell y'all about all my back issues...let's just say I shouldn't have done any of that stuff today. Well except maybe the dust wading. That requires no back power in and of itself!!
I apologize for any typos...I'm blogging on my iPhone from my comfy bed!!

Men and Children Look Away!
This one's for the girls...
Have you ever had one of those "my wardrobe is trying to kill me" days? Well I'm having one today!
It all started with my new shirt:
Which looks just like this but not really...holes are smaller and sleeves are longer. Color's pretty close though!
So I decided I should probably wear my new black bra:
Which is currently digging into my sides. AND the genius who designed it thought that a DD (yes, I said it) should have little air pockets for extra boost...causing the girls to plunge out of their nice safe little area only to be shoved back in when I notice!
Now we look down to my shoes:
Cute right? Yeah...well talk to my heels about it! I'm headed for a blister band-aid quick! (Those things are magic...you should check into it!)
***
So there ya have it...Cute shirt, torture bra, and pretty but deadly shoes.
This has been "Whatcha Wearin?" for Friday, February 19, 2010.
Until next time,
Ashley

A little list action
1. I am so sleepy right now! I should have been charged with reckless driving on the way back from lunch! It was SO hard to keep my eyes open in that warm car!!!
2. My Artie is just too precious! I love how he greets me every time I come home like I've been gone for years! (I realize this is because they have no concept of time, but still it's sweet)
3. What was going to be a romantic weekend away in a cabin in the mountains has now turned into staying home and shopping. And the weird thing is, I'm not sad about it! Sometimes the effort it takes to pack up and go off somewhere isn't worth it! We can bring the same amount of romance to our cute little townhouse for a lot less cash!
4. I can't wait to see Alice in Wonderland and Why Did I Get Married 2 and Valentine's Day and Eclipse (this one is far off but still) and Iron Man 2...any more? I can't think right now...
5. Chase has left dinner plans up to me and I'm drawing a blank. Time to see what http://www.tasteofhome.com/ has to offer!
6. "Make You Feel My Love" is stuck in my head. It's a really sweet song!
7. I am so thankful that God gave me a brain and the ability to use it! Never thought training someone could be this hard. I even broke it down step by step and included pictures of what the screen looks like with arrows pointing to the button they should click. WHAT?!? It's very frustrating!
8. Can't end on an odd number so last one...We're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with our bills. The Lord has really blessed us!

No Good, Very Bad Day
I remember reading a book as a child that repeated the phrase "No Good, Very Bad Day" throughout. It stuck with me - not sure why. I don't even remember the plot of the book, just that phrase. My point in all this is that I'm having a No good, Very bad day.
Now, I don't have pity parties very much, but I'm going to have one now. Just put it right out there for everybody to read about:
I'm so tired of taking one step forward and two steps back. Since we got married, Chase and I have been on a financial roller coaster. He was promised full time at his job, and then they didn't follow through. Then we thought he had another job in the bag, and then it didn't happen. His current job told him that it would be part time at first but would work to full time pretty quickly, and then he was told that it was permanently part time. Great.
So here we are, on the search again for a full time job. We've prayed together and by ourselves and cried - anything we know how to do. It just seems like nothing's happening. I know God has a plan, and that we wouldn't want anything but His plan if we knew what it was. But that doesn't stop the worrying for me.
We decided before we got married that we were going to be debt free. Things were rocking along and we were hopeful that we'd be able to build a house within a year or two of marriage. Now it appears that all those plans have come to a screeching halt. That's the hardest part for me I think. The second hardest part is getting phone calls and being treated like a criminal because my payments are past due. I try to explain to them that I'll pay them as soon as I get paid but it still doesn't stop them from being ugly. I know, I know, it's their job to be that way, but still. Doesn't anyone put themselves in others shoes anymore?
This morning was no exception: I was standing in the bathroom, just about to blowdry my hair and the phone rings. It's another one, wanting to know why I'm late with my payment. They also said "your total due now is $****. I can process that for you now." I was like - "Um if I could pay you that much right now, I wouldn't be late in the first place." I do have to say that the guy was actually the nicest I've talked to yet. I held it together, but right at the end my voice was getting all cracked and high. As soon as I was off the phone, I crumbled..... Then on the way to work, another one called. I got it worked out for that one, but still it was just fuel on the fire.
***
I still haven't fully recovered from this morning. I've been in a very contemplative mood all day. I just want things to be headed in a positive direction. I want to be able to relax a little and not have to worry all the time about where the money is coming from. I will say that God has blessed us more than we deserve. He's always given us just enough to get everything covered. I try to be so careful with what He sends our way but sometimes I wonder if I'm handling it right. Is that the problem? There are so many questions I have about this time in our lives.
Here's what I know:
God is faithful,
Chase and I are strong,
And we will make it.
Until next time,
Ash
