Yawn...

The past few days, I've been a little more sleepy than usual. The first culprit would be that I spent the weekend with one of my BFF's and her family. They have the smartest/cutest kids. Period.

Take this one for example:

Notice the two phones? The flip phone is hers. It never leaves her side. Ever. I love that the play phone ranks right up there with the real-working phone. Oh to be a kid! And who doesn't love that punkin' shirt!

So that's culprit number one. We went on trip that invovled a lot of sleeping and therefore I'm more tired now because I don't get my daily afternoon nap.

Culprit number two involves this guy:

Yes honey, if you steal my phone and take really red closeups of yourself and change my wallpaper on my phone to be this face, I will post it on the web.

Anyway, two nights ago Chase woke me up with another one of his talking fits. This time poor Artie was caught in the crosshairs. I woke up to Chase being really excited and talking really fast and high pitched. He was saying "IT'S A LITTLE WESTIE!" while holding Artie in a headlock and patting the top of his head. The poor dog didn't know what to do and was giving me the 'Arms of an Angel' eyes in hopes that I would rescue him. Finally Chase let him go after some encouragement from me. He didn't wake up until Artie came back for a belly rub. He likes to exploit you like that.

So back to my YAAAAAWWWWNNNSS.

Super-Sleepy

Hello all! It's been FOREVER since I've posted...

Lately I've been busy with Mr. Incredible's photography blog. I've been editing HTML code and all that jazz. It's looking pretty Snazzy...I still have some work to do so I'll post a Grand Opening on my blog when he's up and running the way I want it!

On to the reason for the title today...

Lately MI has been really stressed about his job(s). Having officially been "let go" from one job due to the maternity girls coming back, and his new "boss" at his other job, he's a barrel of fun! His new boss is - in a word - Yankee. That's all I'll say about that one.

ANYWHO - all this stress has caused MI to do a little sleep-talkin'.

Sunday night at about 2:00 a.m. went like this:

MI: We can do them in here

*scratch scratch scratch*

MI: Nope not there

*scratch scratch scratch*

MI: Nope not there either

Me: What are you looking for?

MI: I need to find the light switch!

*scratch scratch scratch*

MI: Not there

(By this point he found the lamp and was trying to find the little turney switch)

*jiggle jiggle (pray he doesn't knock the lamp off) jiggle jiggle*

MI: Can't find it

ME: Why do you need a light?

MI: I need to finish prom pictures.

ME: OH ok makes perfect sense. BAHAHAHAHA

MI: (as he wakes up) Sorry........

Last night - not sure of the time - I've figured out if I keep my eyes closed I can fall back to sleep faster:

I was rustling around - about to roll over (or flip over, since I'm told I'm a flipper)

*rustle rustle*

MI: I've got it!

ME: You've got what?

MI: I've got it right here.

(He grabbed me to stop me from moving like it was an emergency)

MI: It's right here.

ME: Sure you do.

MI: (waking up) Sorry.......

*********

I'll take these funny-wierd ones any night!

Until next time ===================================> Ashley

Super-Startled!

OH MY! Do I have a story for you!

The Back Story:

Dear ole Mr. Incredible has a little sleeping issue. He talks, moves art off the walls, and sometimes (like last night) he gets a little nasty with me. Most of the time I'm not the object of his hostility. According to him, when I interact with him at all during these episodes, I become part of his dream. A very real part.

Last Night's Story:

SISTER

At about 2:30 I felt him moving suddenly (cue the craziness! Here it comes!) and he got really, really close to me. He started yelling "Is your sister here? Is she here? Yes or No! Is your sister here?" Now according to M.I., here's where I went wrong: I started patting him on the arm and in a really sweet tone saying "Chase wake up, it's ok, wake up." To which he responded (like usual but without the bad words this time) "I AM AWAKE! DON'T TELL ME TO WAKE UP!" Then he punched at me (it was pitch dark thank goodness) so he grazed my arm and most of the force hit the bed. So of course I yelled "DON'T HIT ME!" And he started the "IS YOUR SISTER HERE!?!?" screams again. All I could say was "No! She's not here!" At that point I turned the light on and he was STILL not awake. Eyes open, but not awake. He was reeeeeally mad. And so was I! The whole episode ended with him waking up and realizing how mad I was and leaving the room.

The dream according to him: He was shooting a wedding and the bride wouldn't tell him if her sister was there for formals. When I "entered" his dream, I became the bride. Whoa be unto a bride who doesn't answer his question about a family member being present!!!

Today's lunch date topic was "How to NOT make Chase angry while he's having an 'Episode'". Bottom line he says I should not interact with him at all - just get out of the bed, turn the light on, and clap my hands until he wakes up. Yeah, I see a problem here: I can just picture me turning on the light to find Syndrome (yeah - that's his name when he's a sleeping terror) crouched on the bed like a bull. I don't think clapping my hands would do anything but invite him to chase me! This could end very badly for me...

I say all that to say this: If at any point I show up with black eyes or broken bones, please vouch for me that he has a problem in his sleep. I could never in a million years see Chase doing any harm to me while he's awake, but as Syndrome it's a different story!

I'll end this post on a funny note from one of Syndrome's other moments:

THE HOLE

One night I felt M.I. moving incredibly fast across the bed in my direction. (We have a King, so sometimes it takes me a little bit to wake up enough to see it coming.) He took both of his hands and literally dove under my pillow. He was screaming "The hole! I have to cover the hole!" (Side note: This was at the very beginning of our marriage, so I wasn't quite aware of the magnitude of the situation.) So of course I wake up pushing him away and trying to wake him up. First mistake. I was also telling him there wasn't a hole. Second mistake. At this point, he grabbed my wrist and jerked it up in the air to keep me away from the "hole" under my pillow. There we were, him covering the invisible hole, me dangling in the air screaming "WAKE UP!" I eventually pulled away and ran to the bathroom. After a few seconds of silence, I opened the door and found him rolled back over like nothing had ever happened!

The dream according to him: Our house was flooding and the water was coming in through the hole under my pillow! I was stopping him from saving the house, so he had to stop me!!! LOL
