Time...Is On My Side

Yes it is.

This is the first of many posts that I introduced here last week.

I think we all know those women who seem to have it all together.
Their kids are always clean, dressed well, and aren't strangling each other in the aisles of the grocery store.

I wish I could gather these women into an interrogation room and hold them in there until they spill it.

Today's topic is about time. Schedules to be exact.

What advice do you have for getting kids acclimated to a schedule?

Any bad choices you've made with schedules that you had to correct?

  1. I think getting kids acclimated to a schedule is to not have a set schedule. From my personal experience, (as a child) I always resisted any type of scheduling to the point that I would cry my eyes out from doing the same things at the same time, on the same days. CHILDREN NEED VARIETY! It's kind of like if you keep your kid in a germ free bubble all those years, when they become "grown" they will be sick all the time once they're out from under your care. Yes, they need to get up at a specific time and learn to manage their time ... but I think not having a schedule keeps them from being so uptight with their time-enjoy your time and they will enjoy theirs with you! An uptight household and scheduling frenzy will create a crazy uptight teenager down the road...you don't want that do you?! ;) Just kidding. My mom wasn't a scheduler-but now I am because I've found that works best for me. Don't worry about all the trivial things now, you and Chase will be AWESOME parents! :)
